When Cake meets Fashion

When fashion and cakes are combined, this is how it will look like. At the Fashion Afternoon Tea at the Berkeley Hotel you will get exactly that. Moschino, Jimmy Choo and Matthew Williamson's Collections are a true inspiration for the pastry chefs of the hotel. The small cakes are delicious and so delicate, they are almost too pretty to eat.

Getting inspired and motivated

Monday mornings are perfect for hitting the museum. All the weekend tourists are gone and you will probably be the only one there when you come early. That's the time I love, just me and the art. Here I get inspired and also motivate myself to be creative as well as work hard for the week ahead. At the Victoria & Albert Museum you can not only visit the current fashion and design exhibitions like Constable or the Wedding Dresses one but also the free all year classics like Asian Art or ancient artefacts. The Weston Cast Court is my favourite room of the museum. The enormous golden door is breathtaking and I think the craftsmanship of the details is just spectacular.

The perfect Planner for 2015

I love planning things ahead and write it down in my filofax. Not that I plan everything, I am quite spontaneous and do not need a plan and a schedule for my daily routine. But what I like to do is when a new year starts,

Christian Louboutin Beauté

The Red Soles are iconic! And what is better than having the same red on your fingers as a nail polish. I could not think of something more tempting. Christian Louboutin should have thought about it earlier. Well I am glad he launched his beauté collection with these lovely nail polishes. The signature red is just amazing and I also managed to get my hands on a nude tone ( which are the most popular shades, as I was told ) They are so beautiful and the design of the nail polish itself is divine. This probably justifies the price and makes up for the little fortune I spend for these two nail polishes. This is actually by far the most I have ever spent on beauty products in my whole life. But it is kind of worth it - because it is not only a beauty product it is a design object and collectors piece. That's what I told myself when I bought it.

Flower Love

I just love flowers - any bloomers in fact! Especially when it is cold, grey, bare and leafless outside. I love to brighten up the flat with any kind of blossoms and flowers. Everytime I look at them I feel joy and happiness. I don't know if every woman feels that way but I do. Here is my Flower Top 3 and why I like them.

It is too bad that...

the Horst P. Horst Exhibition has ended on 4th January 2015. If you did not manage to see it, here is the link to my blogpost about it. Nothing you have to be sad about because this amazing book about the exhibition is still available. It is an inspiration and every once in a while I browse through it and look at the masterpieces like the Picture from the Mainbocher Corset.

Cappuccino Affair

Every morning starts with great Coffee - at least in my household! When I do not drink my coffee at home I need it somewhere else. The Ozone Coffee Roasters in East London show us the way to the strong black liquid even when were aren't fully awake. I could read this sign from 100m away and even if i can't the lovely aromatic coffee smell will take me there - i am sure.

Piña Colada for Breakfast

Well this is something you do not here that often - Cocktails for Breakfast? Yes you heard right! This breakfast is nonalcoholic but tastes exactly like the original. It is fruity yet silky, sour and coconutty. An amazing exotic treat which is so simple to prepare. What you need is...

To all Monday Haters

Good Morning dear Monday Haters, I have something that will cheer you up. Try my Chia Pudding (made with Chia Seeds and Coconut Milk) with Plum Compote, Mango & Yoghurt. Then fill it into a red wine glass or any big glass jar. The important thing is that you can see through how all the colours and components combine in the glass. Isn't it beautiful and it is so yummy as well as healthy. By the way Mango is a true superfood, it reduces blood pressure, boosts immunity and reduces stress hormones. It is also very high in Vitamin C and Iron which also improves energy levels. So enjoy this fruity breaki and have a great week.

Did you know?

That wild green parrots live in London's Hyde Park. They are so beautiful and colourful. First I did not believe what I saw -Green birds were flying around and made weird sounds. When they settled on this tree I got this shot of one of the three parrots. There is just so much to discover in London and you wouldn't think you see tropical parrots, would you?

Sneaker Love

I used to hate Sneakers, Trainers and every sporty looking shoe. But now I kinda love them. Funny how quickly things can change. Sneakers are comfy and can be pretty stylish as well as you can see above. These golden beauties by Rupert Sanderson waited for me and screamed: Take me with you - So I did. Thank god that the winter SALE is still going on.

Sports Essentials for 2015

Fitness is a big part of my new routine this year. My goal is to hit the gym at least three times a week. Well let's see how it goes - but my new sport essentials are quite motivating. These headphones are so stylish and brighten up my training. They are colourful, cool and play great Work-out Songs on Spotify. I know that's what headphones usually do but they do not only play music, they are a fashion accessories and a statement - *I love fashion and even at the gym I am demonstrating that I have style*. Check out The Macbeth Collection for more designs and styles, if you also like unique headphones.

Monday Monday

It is the first Monday in 2015 and I am starting it with french pastries. A crispy fluffy croissant helps me through days like this. It is Monday and nobody likes it. For most of the people who are working it is the first working day of the new year. Hopefully this monday started off great like mine with these lovely croissants that I bought on the Marylebone Farmers Market yesterday.

First Things first

When I got back from my skiing holiday there were a few things that I missed while away. I missed my flat with my comfy bed, a Banana Bread at Kaffeine, Harrods of course  and a Pimm's at my favourite Pub which is The Bunch of Grapes in Knightsbridge. Cheers to the new year 2015.

Happy New Year everyone. How did you celebrate?

Addicted to the Matterhorn

Once you have seen the Matterhorn you'll not want to go anywhere else. I promise you. It does not feel right to leave the Matterhorn behind. The feeling that I won't see this spectacular mountain for one year makes me sad. The view is just breathtaking from the village of Zermatt but even better from the slopes. I cannot get enough of the Matterhorn. It is the most beautiful peek in Switzerland and in fact the whole world. There is no better place on earth to ski.

Lunch at Bontadini

Haters gonna hate - but I just have to share this picture with you. This was my lunch at Bontadini today. It is a restaurant not far from Testa Grigia right at a slope. This Truffle Risotto was so delicious - just a proper skiing meal.

Winter Wonderland at the Matterhorn

Usually I am not really a skiing fan! Why? Well there are several reasons: it is cold sometimes even very cold, you have to wear an extra 5kg in cloth and you hardly get any sun when it snows. But this changes when I see the Matterhorn.

Covent Garden Christmas Lights

Covent Garden is very touristy, crowded and loud but the christmas decorations are worth going there. Try to avoid weekends because it is even more busy.

New Phone - New Cover

I am so excited that I finally received the iPhone 6. It's faster, bigger, has more storage and the camera is better too. Superb - but with the different size of the phone I cannot use the iphone 5 covers so I needed a new one. Unfortunately there is not so much of a choice since the phone is so new. But I am in London- there is nothing that I cannot get. At Victoria's Secret I found this and I liked a lot. It's pink, cute and practical...

Name Search at Chanel

Just so you know: I am looking for the black calfskin leather Espadrilles with the silver Camelia Flower on the CC Logo in size 39! There you have it - I am calling Chanel several times a week at several Central London Stores but none of them receive them or I am to late and they have already sold out on the one in my size by 10:30 in the morning (they open at 10). That is as quickly as tickets to the soccer worldcup finale. I know the comparison is strange Soccer and Chanel but just to give you an idea how hard it is to get these shoes. Unbelievable. At the Sloane Street Chanel Boutique I checked the other day - No luck. But I spotted something else. A wall full of names. These names are the most popular first names in the US and instantly I was looking for mine.
