London loves RED

Red is definitely a british color. The busses are red, the mailboxes and the phone boxes are as well and the union jack has also red in it. You see that red is a dominant color in the english capital. The doors in London are also very colorful and red is very popular as seen on this door. This is a typical London entrance - isn't it beautiful?

It's Christmas at Selfridges

Crazy! It is not even November and the christmas decorations have already begun. Actually I don't mind because I love the lights and the christmassy stuff but what I don't like is that I have to wait two month for the presents. Well I will get over it, in the meantime I'll get into the christmas mood and enjoy London's decorations on the streets and in the windows such as this at Selfridges. A golden taxi brings all the presents. I like that. 

LOVE is on the streets

Shortly after the Frieze Art Fair I discovered the famous red LOVE Sculpture in front of the 45 Park Lane Hotel in London. I always wanted to see it live. I have seen so many pictures when this iconic pop art piece was displayed in New York and since then I was keen on seeing it. So if somebody feels the same way, go to 45 Park Lane and check out the Love Sculptures of Robert Indiana. 

Me and my Mint Tea

The weather in London could not be better. In fact, I am still sitting outside and have breakfast. It is lovely. Me and my mint tea are enjoying it. This vintage china has so much history and is so cute. Everytime I come to Cocomaya I'll get a different design. Such a cute idea and it is always a surprise which one I get. I especially like their Chelsea branch on Pavillion Road, close to Sloane Square. For sugar addicts this is definitely the place to go.

Shopping in Bling Bling Heaven

If you have a soft spot for jewellery, I promise you that you'll go crazy in this Chelsea Boutique. Butler & Wilson celebrate their 45th anniversary this year, so they have been in the vintage and jewellery business long enough to know what's good. This store will blow your mind.

I love Greek Food - there I said it. Tzatziki, Dakos, Feta or Baklava - these mediterranean dishes can be amazing, when you have the right ingredients. They are simple to make but hard to accomplish. If Opso is a real greek?

As I passed the new Victoria Beckham Store in Mayfair the other day, I spotted a new green eating place called Raw Press in the basement of Wolf & Badger on Dover Street. Raw, detox, organic and healthy are the keywords of modern society, so guess what this deli serves?

That's what I love about London, it is full of surprises and there is are limits, there is no No. You can do and have everything, if you pay for it of course. What an awesome lifestyle if you get picked up by this carriage? 

Gone but not forgotten - a true inspiration

Oscar de la Renta was 82 when his life came to an end yesterday. I am sure he will not be forgotten since he was such an amazing designer and he was an enormous inspiration for the the fashion world. He will live on in his designs. Have a look at his wonderful Gowns . Even if we don't need a dress like this, it is divine to look at them.

The Brits love their afternoon tea, but what everyone loves even more is a fashionable high tea which you can find at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. Usually they have designer runway inspired cakes and sweets which they change depending on the fashion seasons spring summer or fall winter. But currently the luxurious shoe brand Jimmy Choo collaborates with the Knightsbridge based Hotel. So get your iphones and hashtag #tea4choo and #sweettooth.

Celebrating the LV Monogram

This year is the 160th founding anniversary of the brand Louis Vuitton which they are celebrating by a wonderful collaboration with six fellow designers. All of them including Karl Lagerfeld & Christian Louboutin designed an accessoire and used the famous monogram LV print to celebrate the brand's signature element.

NEWS // Frieze Art Fair London 2014

Today is the last day of the Frieze Art Fair in London. The tickets were limited (and quite expensive) but don't be sad if you did not buy one. 20 art pieces are open to the public, take the closest entrance to Regent's Park if you come from Great Portland Street Station and have a look at the "Sculpture Park".

Portugal Travel Diary // Cocktail o'clock

I am not really into alcoholic drinks but on vacation I enjoy going to the hotel bar if it's nice. At the Conrad Algarve there were two bars, I preferred the Gusto by Heinz Beck Bar which is also a Michelin Star Restaurant. The Cocktails were as exiting as the food.

My Portugal "Mitbringsel"

Buying things on vacation is fun because at home you will always remember where you bought it and also have great memories. With these Love Bangles I created some Algarve memories, since I bought it I did not take them off. The neon colors are so bright, they make my skin look even more tanned. And I kind of love everything with "Love" written on it. I am a hopeless romantic when it gets to Love.

A Day at the Beach !

A vacation without seeing any kind of water is no vacation for me. After two days of golfing and relaxing on the pool, I had to go to the beach to Praia Quinta do Lago.

You know that I am a Foodie, so it is no secret that I like to enjoy great food even when on vacation. Food is actually even more important when away because you can discover amazing dishes and ingredients if you try local food. For me the Portuguese Pastel de Nata are not to be missed. 

What I found in the Minibar!

Look at that... Cocktails in Tubes, how practical and stylish. With only 60ml it is more like a shot but still a very stylish and fashionable one. I saw them in the minibar and immediately opened the Cosmopolitan like Carry in Sex & the City. It is always Cocktail Hour, when you have these guys in your fridge. Right?

A hotel can turn your holiday into a nightmare or it can be paradise which in my case was created by the Conrad Algarve. The five star hotel is a getaway that you do not want to get away from.

Breakfast Time at Louro...

Breakfast is a very important meal, even more important when on vacation. I could sit there for hours, drink half a dozen coffees as well as juices and enjoy the view. Starting the Day with "the best orange juice of the world" - that's what the Portuguese people say. I have to admit the orange juice is very fruity, sweet and delicious.
